复兴岛公园

Fuxing Island Park is located at No. 386, Gongqing Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai, 6km away from Wusongkou. It faces Huangpu River in the East, South and North, and Fuxing Island canal in the West.

Development history

Before the Huangpu River converged into the Yangtze River, the river surface became wider and the water potential became slower, forming a shoal on the convex bank. After the establishment of the tanpu Bureau in 1905, the Huangpu River began to be renovated. From 1915 to 1916, a stone dike was built on the east side of the island to promote siltation, and the soil was dredged to an elevation of 5.5m. In July 1926, 8.28 million cubic meters of soil were dredged and dredged to form a crescent shaped artificial island with a length of 3.4 kilometers, an average width of 427 meters and an area of about 1.5 square kilometers.

Fuxing island was named after Eryi. When the Huangpu River was renovated in 1905, it was called Zhoujiazui island because there was Zhoujiazui natural village next to it. After the Japanese occupation in 1937, it was renamed Dinghai Island, named after Dinghai road. In 1945, it was renamed Fuxing island to commemorate the victory of the Anti Japanese war. It began to develop and build factories and oil depots in 1927, became the base of Junpu Bureau in 1934, and became the concentration area of fuel, wood, oil and commercial storage and transportation warehouses in Shanghai after 1949.

Gongqing road runs through the whole island, with Haian road and Bridge in the north and Dinghai road and Bridge in the south. Dinghaiqiao ferry station has ferry connecting both sides of the Huangpu River, with convenient water and land transportation. Fuxing Island Park in the middle of the island is lush and a good place for island residents to rest. Fuxing island is also the anchorage of marine science research ships in China.

In January 1951, the Municipal Port Authority proposed to the Municipal People's government that the park should be changed into a park. With the approval of the municipal government, the park management office of the municipal works bureau slightly reorganized and opened to the public on May 28 of that year.

In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), Shanghai Junpu Bureau formed an island in the east of Zhoujiazui corner, named Zhoujiazui island. The next year, the Bureau bought the island from the government. After the completion of mud blowing in the central part of the island in the 19th year of the Republic of China, a sports meeting of Shanghai Junpu Bureau was built on the foundation of the park, covering an area of 40500 square meters. After the August 13 incident in the Republic of China, the Japanese aggressor army designated the whole island as a forbidden area, renamed it as an island, and transformed the sports garden into a Japanese style garden, in which evergreen trees and spherical shrubs were planted and cherry blossoms were planted. In the 34th year of the Republic of China, the Japanese army surrendered and the island was renamed Fuxing island. In the 36th year of the Republic of China, the Kuomintang government returned Fuxing island to Junpu Bureau and built a "monument to Fuxing Island recovery" (destroyed) in the garden. After liberation, this place was taken over by Shanghai Port Authority. In January 1951, the Municipal Port Authority proposed to the Municipal People's government that the park should be changed into a park. With the approval of the municipal government, the park management office of the municipal works bureau slightly reorganized and opened to the public on May 28 of that year.

Landscape in the park

Because the park is reconstructed from the sports meeting garden, the greening foundation is better. At the beginning of the opening of the park, bamboo fences were used as walls, and the road was paved with coal dust. In addition to the original house of Junpu Bureau, there were two grass pavilions, one Wisteria shed with wood structure, and several Japanese style simple houses built by the Japanese army. In 1972, walls and ticket booths were built along Gongqing road. In 1976, all garden roads were paved with concrete and stone. After 1980, another rest corridor was built and Wisteria trellis was rebuilt. The large lawn on the north side of the park covers an area of nearly 10000 square meters. In the center of the lawn, camphor trees are planted. There is a corridor at the south end of the lawn, with reinforced concrete tables and benches built in. The lawn is the main building of the former Junpu Bureau sports meeting in the north, with brick and wood structure, platform in front of the door, and a Wisteria scaffold in the West. The central part of the park is the courtyard Park, which is divided into two parts, the East and the west, with the Japanese style courtyard style preserved. In the east side of the garden, there are small mounds with stones scattered on them, and evergreen spherical shrubs such as Haitong and boxwood are planted. There is a "heart" shaped small pool in the northwest of the mound, in which there is an island, and Pingqiao is set in the south of the pool. There is a Wisteria corridor on the west side of the garden, beside which there is a small lawn, surrounded by a forest of osmanthus and a mall.

The park is mainly made of plants, surrounded by palms, metasequoia, coral trees and other trees as hedges. The lawn in the garden covers 12000 square meters, accounting for a quarter of the total area. In addition, a large number of ground cover plants are planted. There are 71 species of 3359 trees and shrubs in the park, including camphor, Magnolia, Longbai, black pine, metasequoia, Haitong, osmanthus, wisteria, etc.

At the south end of the park, there is a small nursery with an area of 7000 square meters. There are aluminum alloy greenhouses and soil temperature rooms, where grass flowers and greenhouse flowers are cultivated.

After years of adjustment and reconstruction, the park has broken the original pattern. The park can be divided into three parts: lawn, garden area and flower production area.

At the entrance to the garden, there are trees on both sides of the avenue, and the original monument at the end of the road, Fuxing Island recovery monument, has been destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution", now there are only bottom ones. There is Yihong on the north side of the avenue, which is actually the drainage Daming ditch. There is a big lawn across the ditch, covering an area of nearly 10000 square meters. There are camphor embellishments, towering trees, and there is no interest. In midsummer, the sun is hot, and the camphor trees on the lawn are cool.

The south of the avenue is the court park. On the southwest side of the garden gate, there is a small lawn, beside which there is a Wisteria Pavilion corridor. There are earth mountains in the southeast of the corridor, and a small pond in the northwest corner, which is in the shape of a heart. There are islands in the center of the pond. At the south end of the pond, there are flat bridges passing through. At the north end, there are cliffs. The hills are very short, less than one meter high. They are mainly made of soil, scattered with stones. The stone is often rammed. The narrow and dense path passes through the "Valley". There are evergreen trees and needles planted on the mountain The leaves and trees are ancient and clumsy, dominated by pines and cypresses, and the shrubs are mostly spherical, such as Haitong, Daye Huangyang, coral, etc.; at the end of the road, there is a stone road to the southwest, which divides the park into two parts: the East and the West. Cherry trees are planted all over the road, which is a major feature of Fuxing Island Park. During the cherry blossom season, tourists flow in and out to take photos and praise. There is a flower bed in the east of the road and a flower garden in the south of the road. It is a flower production area, covering an area of nearly 0.7 hectares.

There are 71 varieties of trees and shrubs in the park, including camphor, Magnolia, black pine, cedar, cypress, osmanthus, metasequoia, sycamore, Haitong, red maple, holly, palm, boxwood, jujube, iron tree, evergreen spherical shrub, with more than 3000 trees and a total lawn area of 1.2 hectares (16 mu). It is covered with green shade all the year round.
