Joaquin Phoneix Is A Liar
Dark-haired actor Joaquin Phoenix was rumoured to have ditched acting to pursue a new career as a rapper. But as it turns out it was all a Borat-style hoax orchestrated by Phoenix and Casey Affleck. So I guess that spells originality.
But the bigger issue is to see if anyone has been offended by their hyper-satire hoax? I mean, using people magazine to promote your fake hip hop career? Would 50cent punch them on their face? HA!
People magazine says...
"There's not a hoax," Phoenix tells the Associated. "Might I be ridiculous? Might my career in music be laughable? Yeah, that's possible, but that's certainly not my intention. I had a lot of dudes come up and say, `We really respect you for doing it, putting yourself out there, and going with it. Because I think true hip-hop heads know that it's hard, it's going to be a hard transition, and people are going to be lining up just to make fun of me."
