“There were huge amounts of money in [Brittany's] pension plan and bank account, and all of that’s gone,” says Morgenroth. “I would see it on the statements. There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands.”
Even in the wake of Monjack’s death, trouble followed. Jeannette Bycott, an assistant to Morgenroth, says she witnessed a scene in which Monjack’s mother Linda ordered Sharon to leave the couple’s Hollywood Hills house.
“Linda started acting like everything belongs to her,” says Bycott. “Before Sharon could say anything, Linda stated the house was now hers.”

The insider said Sharon Murphy "may handle Simon's arrangements." "He did want to be close to Brittany forever and he could be buried near her at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills," said the insider, adding Monjack and Sharon Murphy had "an amicable relationship."

"The preliminary cause of death is natural causes," Sgt. Louie Lozano told the Associated Press. Another police spokesman, Sgt. Alex Ortiz, said, "We concluded there no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved."
Ortiz said that the coroner's office was taking over the investigation because criminal activity had been ruled out.

We began the Brittany Murphy Foundation to honor Brittany's wishes and to give her family, friends, and fans a way of keeping her legacy alive. In an effort to get the foundation off the ground quickly, we established it as a private foundation with plans to apply for nonprofit status down the road. However, after some thought, we have decided instead to wait until we have our nonprofit status approved before proceeding to ensure that we can truly honor Brittany's charitable desires. Any donations made up until this point will be returned until we have all our paperwork solidified.

Monjack said Thursday that Brittany didn't seem very sick on the day she died. She was "not that ill," he said. "She wasn't coughing up. I've had pneumonia and coughed up handfuls of spittle. So yeah, everything surprised us, everything."
Asked about the coroner's assertion that his wife's death could have been prevented if she'd just gone to the doctor sooner, Monjack said, "I don't know what he said so I don't want to comment on what I haven't seen."
For him, a chapter has ended. "Case closed," said Monjack. "As the coroner said, there's no foul play."

Brittany Murphy's cause of death has been determined -- an accidental death caused by "community acquired pneumonia," iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication.
The L.A. County Coroner concludes on the subject of "How injury occurred" -- "Drug intake."

Sources say the primary causes of Murphy's death were pneumonia and severe anemia. L.A. County Coroner officials believe Brittany's condition was "treatable" but no one took her to the hospital in time.
As for the multiple drugs found in her system, we're told they were both prescription, including medicine for cramps, and over-the-counter medications, including cough syrup. Our sources say the drugs "pushed her over the line" but the underlying problems were the pneumonia and anemia.

Sources tell TMZ a man who worked at Brittany Murphy's house has told the Coroner's Office that someone would deliver a sealed, manila envelope to the house every Friday filled with prescription medications in bottles. The name on the envelope -- "Lola."
Sources say the ex-employee told the Coroner drugs were also mailed from Los Angeles to Louisiana -- where Brittany was shooting a movie and Simon was tagging along -- in the months before she died.
We're told the pathologist in the Coroner's Office who is working on the case had a variety of questions for Simon and Sharon. Among the questions -- Why was there no record of Brittany seeing a doctor in the months before her death, especially because she had several medical conditions and was experiencing severe abdominal pains days before her death?

On Thursday, Murphy's husband Simon Monjack is hosting a launch party to celebrate the Brittany Murphy Foundation, which is dedicated to arts education for children. (Monjack claims he started the foundation with $1 million of his own money.)
A source tells UsMagazine.com he is suggesting dollar amounts of $1,000 per individual and $10,000 from corporations to attend the event, which takes place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.
Says a source, "Everyone thinks it's very tacky that he is making it so much about money."

"Any claim that Warner Bros. Pictures was somehow responsible for Brittany Murphy's tragic death is demonstrably false, reprehensible and defamatory," they hit back in a statement.
"Despite press reports to the contrary, Warner Bros. Pictures and Ms. Murphy never entered into any deal for Happy Feet 2, and thus, there was no contract to cancel."

Brittany will be interred in the Bright Eternity section and the guest list includes approximately 20 people.  
Scheduled to attend from Hollywood are actor Eric Balfour and Penny Marshall.
The service itself will be co-denominational - there will be a rabbi and a pastor present.
